EVENT TYPES Click to Expand CWA Beginner's Trip. This trip is ACA-insured, led by ACA-certified instructors, and designed to introduce new paddlers to the basics of kayaking in progressive steps. While not an official Beginner's Trip, trips in this category are meant for paddlers who are approaching familiarity and comfort in the trip's posted water difficulty level. Trip leaders, who may or may not be instructors, are willing to help paddlers reach competence by providing guidance and assistance. Paddlers who wish to go on Type B trips should contact the Trip Leader to discuss river competence and attendance on the trip. Type C trips are purely social trips. All paddlers are expected to demonstrate competence on the posted water class.
